So - I really wish that I had gotten to posting this earlier, but I've been so busy getting ready for the Smart Design Mart that I haven't had time to write about the Smart Design Mart. Which is unfortunate because this artist market is the latest kid on the block and something I'm personally really excited by. This is what happens when a group of the nicest, most in touch, most talented designers and artisans you know get together and decide to start their own market - magic!!! Instead of the usual crowded corridors and mini-booths with only enuff room for a card table, they have rented a HUGE loft space and given everyone the opportunity to create their own "mini-boutique". There will be 54 artists in all, and instead of making an open call, they scouted all the participants personally. So expect to see tons of folks you've never seen before!
