Wine Colours

Burgundy, Merlot, Porto, Bordeaux; whatever you choose to call them, wine colors are everywhere this season. Touted as "The new black for Autumn 2011," everything from makeup to menswear is available in wine tones right now. Here at General 54, we've got a whole cellarfull of beautiful wine hued options: Jewelry, recycled leather bags and wallets, hair accessories, socks, woolen knits, housewares, and of course, clothing.

This Ilk, by local designer Tamara Bavdek, is showing a beautiful collection of lace earrings, necklaces, and statement collars in the boutique right now. The Poison Ivy Trident earrings, shown above, come in a rich Porto, and are currently on display in our window, intoxicating!

This Brazen Design Saga Seed Ring by General 54 alumnus Rachel Dhawan gives a little pop of the hot color pallet without overwhelming. Made in sterling with real seeds, it's a great gift option, or a perfect personal splurge.

Kerri Westlake, Montreal-based creator of Westlake Designs, isn't letting this color trend pass her by either. Hand-knit toques, headbands, cowels, and pouches, 100% wool, in a variety of full bodied shades are cozy, chic, and on point for the colder days ahead.

Jennifer Glasgow, General 54 c0 -owner and beloved neighborhood designer has brought us an Autumn/Winter 2011 line with a brilliant bouquet. Many pieces are available in wine shades, as well as black. The Gloria tunic (above) (also available as a top), Dawson City dress (left), and the Grace skirt (top), are just a few delicious looks from this collection. Made from sustainable fabrics, and available in a true range of sizes from XS to XL, come on in to try one on and see what all the fuss is about.

Imagine this sweet Red Berries tea towel by Jenna Rose wrapped around a nice jar of mulled wine this fall. It's made of 55% Hemp and 45% Organic Cotton! Dress up your kitchen with durable, sustainable, and charming housewares in burgundy just like this:

Oak barrel wine shades are most gorgeous in leather. Broundoor wallets, messenger bags, and purses show off the oakey colors while employing recycled materials. We have plenty of selection in store, and new styles are coming in all the time!

Broundoor Saddlebag (detail), and Trim wallet, (above).

With a whole bunch of options to choose from in this pallet, come visit us and have a sip, (or a chug), of what General 54 is serving!
