"Block Party" preview: Erik Naumann "Armour"

Photos by Erik Naumann will be on display in the Annex Vintage and General 54 windows during the Art Matters "Block Party" exhibit. They are from a work in progress called "Armour"

From the artist:
"My recent work has looked at clothing, and how it reflects our culture and identity. I’ve been searching for a way to support these ideas and find out why clothing was important to me. One of the ideas I came across was a quote from iconic New York street fashion photographer, Bill Cunningham: "Fashion is the armour with which to survive the reality of everyday life.” With this work I explore this idea of clothing by as armour, and how it might insulate and hold us together, socially, mentally or culturally; how it protects us, or how it might make us more vulnerable."
